run out of something ~ 底をつく・切らす ~

Hiya !

Hey, I just finished our toothpaste. Do we have some more?

Oh no, my phone doesn't have anymore power. How am I supposed to survive for the rest of the day!

Right, if these kind of events happen to you often, the phrase I'm gonna introduce today would be very useful ; ) I personally use it quite frequently because I'm not a organized person : p

( Sorry that I couldn't update this blog for nearly a month! )

” run out of something ” – something has been used up, none left, no remaining

~ For example ~

  • I think we have run out of toothpaste. We need to buy some more while we are out for shopping later, don't we?

  • A : Oh no, my phone is running out of buttery. Can I use your mobile buttery charger?

  • B : No worries. I suppose you'd better try not to play phone games too much, ey?

This phrase is actually a very versatile phrase that you can use in many situations. "running out of money " " running out of energy " " running out of printer inks " and so on : )

Haven't you run out of motivation to learn English, right? :D
